
Canadian engineering and construction company GENIVAR continues to ramp up its expansion plans in Ontario with the purchase of Day and Behn Engineering Inc.
“GENIVAR is a well-known engineering powerhouse with projects carried out in Canada”, said Moe Ettehadieh, vice president of GENIVAR’s Ontario operations. “What we plan to do now is add to our already well established project and construction capabilities here in Ontario, and the purchase of Day and Behn is in keeping with our overall expansion plan in Ontario and Western Canada”.
Day and Behn has been operating in Ontario since 1987 and specializes in mechanical, electrical and lighting design of buildings. “This will be an excellent fit for GENIVAR – adding to the skills of our people already have – and giving clients even more reasons to call on us first”.
Jurgen Behn will remain in charge GENIVAR’s electrical and lighting design in the greater Toronto area. Barry Day will become the partner in charge of GENIVAR’s mechanical engineering division in Toronto.
Day & Behn has long-standing experience in the institutional sector and has completed numerous education, healthcare, recreational, cultural and airport projects. The firm also has experience with commercial clients, namely telecommunication firms, banks and other financial institutions.
