GENIVAR in consortium will carry out the final design plans for the interchange linking Highways A-15 and A-640

Interchange linking Highways A-15 and A-640

GENIVAR will be completing the final design plans and preparing drawings and specifications for this major reconstruction project as part of a consortium. The interchange linking Highways A-15 and A-640 is the main transportation hub for the Lower Laurentians region and will be reconfigured to provide improved functionality and enhanced safety features. The project has the following objectives:

• revising the interchange configuration by modifying the interchange ramps;

• reducing potential problems by eliminating intersections;

• improving local service by separating local and through traffic;

• harmonizing the interchange with the new configuration of Highway A-15 in the sector;

• adding a lane in each direction on the segment of Highway A-640 between Highway A-15 and Route 117.

This $95-million four-stage project aims to strike a balance between safety and traffic flow. It will facilitate travel for regional residents while providing a further boost to the already robust local economy.
