Montreal traffic light modernization project will involve carrying out studies on the safety of problem intersections, replacing traffic controllers, bringing equipment up to standards and completely reviewing the timing of the traffic lights. Studies, plans and specifications and work supervision are included. The project involves 631 of the city's 1,600 intersections equipped with traffic lights. GENIVAR will also oversee the updating of software that uses a georeferenced system to manage traffic count and accident data and traffic lights throughout the city's territory.
