​Located between downtown and Old Montreal, the building doubled its meeting, convention and service space,  from 70,000 to 125,000 m². The expansion project represented a construction area of around 35,000 m² of the building proper. The expansion is partly located over a section of the Ville-Marie Expressway, requiring  its conversion into a tunnel. The project  included expansion of the reception areas, exhibition and convention halls, meeting rooms and service and operating areas (unloading docks, workshops, etc.). The project also included construction of 600 underground parking spaces.
