Various petrochemical industrial activities had been undertaken on Petromont’s current site in Varennes, dating back to 1953. Petromont began operations in 1980 and ceased operations in April 2008. It was in the context of the plant’s cessation of operations that GENIVAR carried out various environmental projects.
