​The Bonaventure Expressway redevelopment project consisted of transforming an approximately one-km section into an urban boulevard located at the entrance to downtown Montreal. The roadways are located on either side of central “islands”, which are available for residential and commercial uses. The project also included the construction of an exclusive public transit corridor and nearly 14,500 m² of free public space (to be converted into green space). GENIVAR was commissioned to redevelop the Bonaventure corridor and De La Commune Island in the area between Rue Saint-Jacques and Rue de la Commune and to coordinate the additional projects under the partners’ responsibility.
